Baby products e‑shop with personalised discovery, seamless checkout & admin automation
Baby House is a long‑established retailer in Sérres specialising in infant and toddler products. To expand beyond the local market, a full e‑commerce platform was commissioned in late 2023. The aim was to maintain the shop’s warm, trustworthy brand while delivering a modern online shopping experience for busy parents. The brief called for a minimal aesthetic, intuitive navigation and a robust back‑office capable of handling inventory, orders and marketing. Clarity, speed, trust and growth remained central throughout the build.
The brief
This wasn’t just about launching a catalogue; the store needed a complete digital ecosystem. The project requirements included:
- Brand & design: New logo and colour palette, with Varela Round for display and Manrope for body copy. A minimal look that appeals to young parents.
- Front‑end user flow: Search‑friendly architecture, clear home page highlighting categories and offers, advanced search with filters by category, brand and attributes, detailed product pages with images, videos, descriptions, price and related products, and an easy cart‑to‑checkout transition.
- Checkout & payments: Simplified checkout with multiple payment options—cash on delivery, bank transfer, PayPal, credit/debit cards via Eurobank/Stripe, Apple Pay/Google Pay—tax‑inclusive and tax‑exclusive pricing and the ability to disable cash on delivery above certain amounts.
- Customer account: Account creation via email or social login, with order history, profile management and preferences.
- Backend management: Custom dashboard for sales overview, inventory control with real‑time stock alerts and pre‑order management, product management (titles, descriptions, images, variations), order management (status updates, tracking numbers), shipping integration with ACS courier (label generation and pickup scheduling), payment gateway configuration, discount and coupon engine, reporting and analytics, security updates and backups.
- Returns & cancellations: Clear process with custom forms, printed return cards in each package and a website section outlining the three simple steps.
- SEO & content: SEO‑optimised content creation, meta titles/descriptions, schema markup for products, structured URLs, image optimisation, internal linking, blog guides and size charts to position the site as a trusted resource.
- Notifications: Automated email templates for each stage—order received, confirmed, shipped with tracking code, delivered—with prompts for reviews.
- Scalability: Integration points for marketing tools (Klaviyo, Nosto, AI), loyalty programmes, HotJar analytics, subscription products and third‑party APIs as the business grows.
- Onboarding & training: Step‑by‑step rollout from brand kit and wireframes to content preparation, server setup, email account creation, product import and staff training.


The execution
The engagement began with brand exploration, leading to a new digital logo and colour scheme designed to resonate with modern parents. Wireframes mapped the shopper journey from search to purchase, and the home page was structured around core categories—nursery, bath & care, travel, safety, and toys—supported by a search bar and advanced filters for brand, price, age, and product type.
Product pages were designed to build trust, with image galleries, videos, detailed descriptions, size charts, FAQs, and cross-sell widgets like “frequently bought together.” Customers can leave reviews, while checkout was simplified into a single-page cart with clear totals, quantity adjustments, and multiple payment options. A thank-you page provides next steps, and automated emails keep buyers informed. User accounts support order tracking and returns requests.
The backend was built for efficiency, with a custom dashboard for product management, variations, inventory tracking, and fulfilment. Shipping is integrated with ACS for automated labels and tracking. Returns and cancellations are handled through dedicated forms and clear policies. SEO was implemented through keyword-rich descriptions, structured data, meta tags, and blog content.
The site is responsive, fast on mobile, and supports coupons, promotions, and reporting tools to analyse sales and behaviour. After launch, marketing integrations were added, and the system was prepared for loyalty points and subscription bundles. Staff were trained to manage the CMS and use analytics.

The impact
The finished Baby House e‑commerce platform feels like an extension of the physical store: warm, organised and trustworthy. Parents can search and filter quickly, view rich product details and complete purchases with their preferred payment method. Automated communication and clear return policies have boosted customer satisfaction, while the account area fosters loyalty. On the operational side, the custom dashboard streamlines product updates, inventory control and order fulfilment, saving time and reducing errors. SEO efforts have improved visibility for key baby product keywords, and the modular architecture allows the addition of loyalty programmes and marketing tools as the business evolves. Overall, the site has opened a new revenue stream, enhanced the brand’s reach and laid a foundation for scalable growth.
